The clay itself is marbled with green and white with a clear glaze over it. I make this by separately wedging the green pigment into a white clay to turn the whole clay that color. I then stack the different colored clay and wedge that to make this marble. After wedging, I roll it into a slab using a rolling pin, freehand the star edges, and measure and attach the shelf. Once the altar is dry I fire it in the kiln, then brush it with a clear glaze, and fire it again to make the final product.
The is a great piece for a tea light or any other treasure.
There is a slight crack on one side of the shelf, as shown in photos, so the piece is discounted.
Hang with a nail and a command strip (to help it hang straight)
